Imagine a day where you you’ll spend a joyous morning boating on the Mediterranean Sea and the afternoon discovering the best of Marseille.
This is the “Between Land and Sea” tour!
The best of Marseille
We offer a great day for you: the tour “Between Land and Sea” where in 8 hours you’ll discover the best of Marseille and its coastline.
Marseille and Provence count more than 300 days of sunshine per year so this tour will most likely be done under a clear, blue sky!
We’ll pick you up with a minivan and take you to the Vieux Port (Old Port) of Marseille to start the boat ride.
The boat will first head to the peaceful, rocky inlets of the Côte Bleue where you can swim and snorkel in the turquoise water (we have the gear).
Then, we’ll sail to the Frioul Islands and the Château d’If where we’ll make a stop at a small and quiet lagoon with transparent water.
Once anchored in a calanque, rocky inlets which are geographical marvels of the region, we’ll taste a local specialty on board the boat.
Next, we’ll boat along some of the most beautiful coastline to some little fishing port like ” l’anse de la fausse monnaie” and “Le vallon des Auffes” then head back to land at the Vieux Port, the very heart of Marseille!
Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica
After this sunny, sea escapade, we’ll hop in an air-conditioned minivan and drive up to the highest point in Marseille, Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, for the amazing 360° view.
We’ll have a look inside then drive down to see the vestiges of Marseille’s past, enter the oldest bakery and visit a santons (figurines) workshop. Then, you’ll discover “Le Panier”, the oldest neighborhood in France. We’ll then take you back to our meeting point.

A native of Lille, I spent over 20 years in Paris before deciding to settle in Marseille, attracted by the climate and the charm of the Mediterranean. During my years in the capital, I was an actor but also an oenologist and restaurant owner, developing my passion and my skills in several renowned institutions. Since my arrival on the French Riviera, I specialized in tourism by offering tours combining wine, gastronomy and history, especially from Marseille, Aix en Provence and Cassis. I love to share my knowledge with people, being outside and exploring sites full of culture and history. I also sometimes offer mini wine courses and cooking courses in order to teach curious visitors how to combine wine and food. During my private tours, discover the culinary delights of the South of France between tapas, pastries and olive oil, as well as the most scenic places from Cassis to Arles via Les Baux de Provence.
