We offer this tour in the morning from 9:00 to 1:00 or in the afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30.
Aix en Provence, a city of fountains and art
In this cultural and artistic haven with wonderful scents wafting from the lively morning markets, we’ll visit the Old Town, St. Sauveur Cathedral and one of Cezanne’s favorite hilltop painting spots. While wandering through the Old Town, famous for its 17th and 18th century architecture, fountains and squares, we’ll taste some local specialties such as calissons, biscuits, and nougats thanks to our Provence Day Tours.
We’ll stroll through its narrow alleys steeped in history, pass by its numerous fountains, sculptures and classified monuments. We’ll also visit one of the most beautiful cathedrals in France, Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, located on the ancient Roman road and built on the site of a Roman temple dedicated to Apollo. You’ll see an ancient baptistery from the sixth century and its medieval cloisters.
Cezanne and Aix-en-Provence
Cezanne, the famous painter considered as the father of modern art, is the emblem of Aix-en-Provence. For Cezanne lovers, we’ll be happy to take you to visit the hill on which he painted one of his favorite subjects, Mont Sainte Victoire.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the lovely garden, the ruins of the Roman baths on which Aix-en-Provence was founded. We will also visit the Hôtel de Caumont Art Center, the newly restored private mansion turned into an exhibition hall, and an auditorium that features the life of Cézanne, an 18th century dining room, café and a typical French garden.
You can do some shopping and buy the famous calissons of Aix-en-Provence.
The prestigious Aix-Marseille University with its large, international student population gives vitality and ingenuity to the city. There are many events throughout the year such as the classical music festival, opera, ballet and art expositions.
There are a multitude of outdoor markets that display daily the local fruit and vegetables and weekly antiques and flowers.

A native of Lille, I spent over 20 years in Paris before deciding to settle in Marseille, attracted by the climate and the charm of the Mediterranean. During my years in the capital, I was an actor but also an oenologist and restaurant owner, developing my passion and my skills in several renowned institutions. Since my arrival on the French Riviera, I specialized in tourism by offering tours combining wine, gastronomy and history, especially from Marseille, Aix en Provence and Cassis. I love to share my knowledge with people, being outside and exploring sites full of culture and history. I also sometimes offer mini wine courses and cooking courses in order to teach curious visitors how to combine wine and food. During my private tours, discover the culinary delights of the South of France between tapas, pastries and olive oil, as well as the most scenic places from Cassis to Arles via Les Baux de Provence.
