- WITH
- Deborah | about the guide
Discover the treasures of Padova, city of art and science made famous by the painter Giotto who lived and worked there, leaving his influence in the 14th century. You will visit the Scrovegni's Chapel where you will marvel at Giotto's masterpiece. The lives of Jesus and the Virgin Mary are told through Giotto's newly created style of painting, based on narration and emotion. Afterwards, you will continue to the Church of the Eremitani where you will have the opportunity to admire one of the first works of the young Andrea Mantegna. As you continue to wander through this area of the city, you'll also have a chance to visit the 13th century Palace of Reason located between the Erbe and Frutta Squares, the Signori Square, and the University of Padua. You will then head to the elegant caffè Pedrocchi to enjoy a cup of the famous coffee "mint and cream", the preparation of which will be explained by the famous barman (though the formula will be kept secret). You will continue to the extraordinary Basilica of St. Anthony, named after a Portuguese priest and Franciscan friar, who asked to be buried in the original small church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Thousands of visitors travel to Padova each year to honor his tomb and admire the masterpieces in the Church. During the day, you will savour a lunch at the traditional restaurant Cai Fabbri in the Via dei Fabbri.

Born and raised in the Veneto region, I always loved foreign languages since my youngest age. So I started to study Japanese, literature and culture and in the meantime I was developing my knowledge and passion for Italian arts and architecture. Few years after, working as a Japanese interpreter, I saw a contest for a Japanese speaking guide job and I decided to participate to end up being selected and it changed my life. I decided to create my own agency, in order to design my own visits, focused on the inside stories of Venice churches and museums. I have a true passion for my city and my region, and I love to show it to the visitors from all around the world, bringing them to hidden places and telling them secret anecdotes about Venice and the Veneto. My tours show the real Venice, far from the touristic paths and closer from the people who make the city existing since centuries. I am also proud to say I am the most licensed guide in the Veneto area in five different places, entitling me to guide also in Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Treviso and Rovigo. Today, I can guide in Italian, in English, and Japanese in unique places such as Murano glass factories, Burano lace workshops, wineries, churches and other authentic Venetian places.
