Flower arranging, or Ikebana, has a history of more than 700 years in Japan. The life of the Japanese people has long been intimately tied to nature, and this deep respect for the environment is also alive in Ikebana. Flowers, grasses and other natural elements thus serve as more than just objects with which to decorate a room; they are regarded as valuable forms of life that express the beauty and dignity of the natural world within a container. Grounded in strict discipline and philosophy, Ikebana's primary goal is to bring humanity closer to nature through its own form of spirituality and meditative contemplation. The materials used in preparing Ikebana are also chosen for by season, offering a rich diversity of plants and colors, while the arrangement itself is shaped through specific codes and forms aimed at achieving a balanced and breathtaking result. This art is a perfect symbol of nature.

Born and raised in Brittany (West part of France), I had always been fascinated by the Japanese traditional culture and the Japanese Work culture. Following the feedback of one of my relatives, a musician who played classical concerts in Japan, I decided to visit and experience Tokyo as a student. Married to a Japanese citizen whose family has been the Grand Master of a Noh theatre school for more than 650 years through 20 generations, I deepened my knowledge of the traditional culture while working in Japanese groups and then as an independent consultant. Now living in Japan with my family and young children, sharing precious time with guests willing to discover the Japanese traditional arts.
