I’ve been living in Milan for 30 years, but I’m originally from Scotland. I’ve always loved and been fascinated by Italy. I went to Florence as part of my French and Italian degree, where I met Milanese husband and I moved to Milan straight after my studies. I decided to become a professional tour guide because of my passion for art and history. I love showing people around Milan and sharing the Da Vinci’s Last Supper, the Duomo Cathedral, Portinari Chapel (hidden gem) and the canals, as well as the restaurants and nightlife. The ultimate job satisfaction? When people enjoy themselves and discover the “real” Milan beyond the sometimes austere, elegant facade. When I’m not giving tours, I like swimming, socializing, people watching, clothes and fashion. I’m also a big fan of films and TV series especially Sex & the City!

Deborah is the perfect guide, which means that she has a sixth sense about how much her clients want to know and where their interests lie. It's because she not only talks but listens. She has a consummate knowledge of a wide range of subjects. My wife and I felt as if we were strolling with an old friend.

Hi Gary, Many thanks for your warm works of praise. I too often learn a great deal from my guests and it was my pleasure to take you and Susan to the Last Supper as I could see how much you had been looking forward to it after your first viewing during restoration. Best wishes!

Deborah is a terrific guide. Thoroughly knowledgeable, engaging, outstanding communication skills --- and just a pleasure to have leading the way! My only regret is that I didn't have the opportunity to have her show me yet more of Milan!

guide answer

Hi Stephen, Many thanks for your kind words. I can assure you that the pleasure was all mine! It is always great to meet people who respond so enthusiastically during their tours of Milan with me, whatever the theme. You will just have to plan another trip here again soon! Cheers! Deborah
