Early exclusive Vatican tour

VIP walking tour in the Vatican Museums

PLEASE NOTE: This tour is available every day of the week except on Sundays.

Leaving your hotel early with your guide, you will go to the Vatican to visit the Vatican Museum with your VIP access, including the Cabinet of Masks (not open to regular public) and different galleries (Candelabra Gallery, Maps Gallery, Tapestries Gallery). Then, you will go to the world famous Sistine Chapel to marvel at its ceiling decorated with beautiful frescos and see the world famous The Last Judgment by Michelangelo. Afterwards, you will visit Saint Peter's Basilica, one of the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and one of the largest churches in the world. During your tour, your guide will tell you the history of art, roman and greek art. Then, after a lunch with roman specialties in a local restaurant, your guide will drive you to your 3-hour mosaic or fresco workshop near Piazza Navona. There, you will learn how to make your own artwork. On your way to the workshop, you will be able to see some other famous sights (from the window of the car) like the castel Sant'Angelo, some churches, and some important squares.

Meet your guide in front of Vatican Museum entrance. There, you will enjoy a VIP access, entering the museum before the general public (you won’t be really the only people there as other guides have this permission but the number of early visitors is limited so it won't be crowded). Inside, you will visit the Vatican Museum, the Cabinet of Masks (not open to regular public) including different galleries (Candelabra Gallery, Maps Gallery, Tapestries Gallery,) the Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter's Basilica, ending the tour in Saint Peter's square.

Born and raised in Rome, I have been working in the tourism industry for 11 years now, first leading tours throughout Italy and later qualifying for my license as an official guide for Rome, the surrounding province and Vatican City. Before being a tour guide, I already knew a bit about Rome art and history, but when some of my foreign friends were coming to Rome, I was unable to explain them the whole history of my own city. I felt ashamed and decided to improve it, so I started to follow special courses which led me to the wonderful job of being a tour guide. I enjoy sharing my love for my beautiful city with my guests. My job allows me to meet people from all over the world, and many of them are special. Second, among the special persons I guided Jimmy Fallon, the American Comedian, and I did not know how he was ! My specialty is the archeological area of Rome and all the main sights (Coliseum, the Roman Forum...) but also Rome’s underground (ancient roman city) with its catacombs, crypts, and churches. I love it because it shows the past of the city and let us see the connections between the ancient city and the modern one.

"We booked two tours with Tiziana Gargaro, the early morning Vatican tour and the Forum/Colosseum/Palatine Hill tour. From our first email she was responsive, professional and helpful! She had a lot of helpful suggestions that really gave us the most out of our tours. She was very knowledgeable and friendly which made having our own guide even more fun. She was also flexible which was nice when our 11 month old decided he needed breaks! She also helped us with recommendations for the rest of our trip, going above and beyond! The Vatican tour was especially wonderful as we were there early and off-season so we had the entire place to ourselves!
