- Caroline | about the guide
The Louvre is simultaneously a symbol of Paris, an architectural masterpiece and home to hundreds of world-famous paintings and sculptures. This tour is the ideal opportunity to learn more about the history of the buildings and the city of Paris from the Roman era to modern times, with the addition of I. M. Pei’s glass pyramid in the 1980s under French president François Mitterrand. Inside, you will have ample time to admire the exceptional works including Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo & Winged Victory of Samothrace.

Born and brought up in Paris, I studied history and was destined to become a teacher, as I like working with people. However, I also wanted more freedom and flexibility. So, in 2009, I started giving tours as a volunteer and completed by professional guiding qualification the following year. I love this job as I’m always surrounded by people, I get to share my passion for history, and I create personal relationship during small private tours. My favorite themes? History (ex. Monuments like the Basilica of Saint-Denis, Saint Chapelle and Les Invalides), le Marais (Medieval architecture, aristocratic history) and the Louvre. As well as history, I’m also passionate about fashion, travelling and psychology.

I would like to take the opportunity to extend my gratitude to Caroline for a wonderful Tour of the Louvre. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable and a joy to be around. The 3hrs passed so quickly that we are now looking to book another Tour with Caroline but what would it be this time... :)
