Beautiful views and emblematic monuments with a private chauffeur

- François | about the guide
This tour is ideal if you don’t have much time in Paris, but want to discover the most iconic sights and monuments in the city of love and lights. You will start your tour early in the morning to admire the splendid gothic architecture and sumptuous interior of Notre Dame Cathedral before the crowds arrive. Your private chauffeur will then whisk you off past the prestigious art galleries of the musée du Louvre and the musée d’Orsay and onto the Tour Eiffel. This will be an ideal opportunity to take photos of the city’s most emblematic monument. Next destination? Whizzing along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées past its designer shops, you’ll spin around the Arc de Triomphe and onto Montmartre. Stretch your legs as you wander through the winding street of this former village to discover artists at Place du Tertre, stunning views over Paris and the brilliant white stone architecture of Sacré Cœur. To end your tour, you’ll drive past the Opéra Garnier, built by Napoleon III as part of the architectural transformation overseen by Haussmann, over the Seine and into the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, famous for its cafés formerly frequented by French artists and philosophers such as Jean Paul Sartre.

I’m from the northern French town of Douai, but I moved to Paris to finish my art history degree. I worked at the Musée National de la Renaissance and then for antique dealer Jacqueline Boccador before organizing contemporary art exhibitions with art dealer Marc Higonnet. I’ve been a qualified guide since 2011 and enjoy being able to mix my love of the humanities and good food. When I was young, my mother took me to the Musée de la Chartreuse de Douai for an archeology lecture, which I found incredibly beautiful (even if I didn’t understand everything)! Since then, I give lectures and guided tours in the hope of inspiring young – and not so young – people. Given my classical background, I’m particularly fond of the Louvre, the Jacquemart-André, Picasso et Middle Ages museums, as well as the châteaux of Chantilly, Fontainebleau and Chambord.

Jill: United States 29Sep17 Our time with François in Paris far exceeded our expectations. François’s knowledge of Paris was both deep and wide, and he imparted all manner of fact and detail about Paris and Parisian life with quick wit and warm conversation. He seamlessly moved from topic to topic answering all our questions with grace and liveliness. The consummate professional, he was attentive and engaging throughout the whole tour and met our every need “avec plaisir.” We were also deeply impressed with our driver, Alex, who maneuvered us expertly about the city, kept us safe and on schedule, and accommodated our every request for breaks and photo ops. For us, the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at the train station could not be overestimated. We concluded our tour of Paris with an appreciation for the city that will surely draw us back. We would absolutely book with François again to pick up where we left off.

Francois gave us a fabulous tour of Versailles. He met us on time at our hotel and was as charming as he was knowledgeable. We learned so many fascinating facts about the history of France. He made sure we skipped the very long line and didn't leave us until he had us seated for lunch at one of his favorite cafes. I highly recommend booking with Unique Tours Factory. The guides are very professional and delightful. Debbie S, Los Angeles

Francois was delightful. We spent over 2 hours with him at Centre Pompidou. He has vast knowledge & insight into art history, as evidenced by his previous experience as a curator. He has a very smooth and understanding way of communicating. He encouraged us to rest half-way through our tour with a refreshment stop. P.S. Francois should change his picture, as he is older & an impeccable dresser.
