The tour will give you access to Budapest's famous Jewish District like you have never seen it before. You will not only have the opportunity to visit one city’s many synagogues, but also discover hidden treasures and secret stories. Your guide will tell you more Jewish culture and traditions, while also talking about the events of World War II. During this tour you will see hidden courtyards and corners usually only accessed by locals including the ghetto wall, a local butchers and kosher shops. The highlight of the tour is a guided visit of the Grand Synagogue, the biggest in Europe. As only official synagogue guides can give tours inside, you will join a bigger group for a 30-minute tour of the buildings. In need of refreshment? It’s time to stop for coffee and cake at traditional Hungarian Jewish pastry shop. NB : Please not that there are no tours on Saturday or Friday afternoon as the synagogue is closed.
