Elisabetta, private and professional local guide in Venice
LANGUAGES :

I was born in Venice where I lived and graduated in Art and History from the Ca' Foscari University. After my studies, I decided to go abroad to practise my languages. I had some family in London so I moved there and worked at the American Express Travel office for almost 10 years during which I also travelled a lot all over the world as part of my job of travel planner. In 2000, after a year in Florida working also in tourism, I came back to Venice as I was missing the Italian weather, food and lifestyle. I also wanted to have a life change so I decided to become a tour guide, a job I am passionate about and that reminds me of the quote “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”. I love working with visitors of all ages, adapting myself to their needs. And to keep them interested, I always try to mix interesting information with humour. It doesn't matter what you say but how you say it. During my tours, I like to show the true Venice, something deeper than the postcard picture: the Islands of the Lagoon, the baccari, the legends of Venice, the Venetian traditions, the life of Casanova. But also the Veneto region: the Dolomites, the Lake Garda, Padova and Treviso. Despite my age, I remain a permanent student, always curious to learn new things. Besides Venice, my other favourite place are the mountains where I like climbing in the summer and skiing during the winter. ...read more
Sara, private and professional local guide in Venice
LANGUAGES :
Anglais/English, Italien/Italian
Born and raised in Venice, I obtained my master degree in Art History the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and my tour guide license in 2009. During my studies, I had several experiences abroad, which gave me an international mindset. Passionate by paintings, I also work as a professional paintings restorer. I own a restoration laboratory where I operate on oil paintings on canvas and polychromed wood sculptures. It had been 5 years now I am doing painting restoration and it had been a real delight. I always believed that being a guide was the most interesting and fascinating profession in the world. I am today member of some of the most important professional associations of tour guides, as Venezia Arte and Promoguide. For me it’s a chance to tell and show how spectacular my city is. Through this job my biggest passion comes alive, so this is an expression of my passion for my city and art in general. I love going to the museums, admiring different interiors, as well as visiting public and private collections. I also like churches, paintings and sculptures. My favorite museum is the Ca’ Rezzonico and my biggest passion is about my job, both as a guide and as a restorer. Besides my two jobs, I really love travelling and discovering new places with their artistic history, their local culture and legends. Today, I organise tours in Venice and in the Veneto, focusing on connoisseurs visitors, but I also enjoy guiding families. ...read more
Walter, private and professional local guide in Venice
LANGUAGES :
Italien/Italian, Français/French, Anglais/English
After 20 years spent in Torino and Milan working for a multinational company where I was not fulfilled, I felt the need to come back to Venice, city of my origins. In this beautiful city, I went back to study to obtain my professional guide card. Sensitive to the beauty and the authenticity of Venice, I decided to dedicate my life uncovering its true heart to the eyes of visitors: I created my own guiding agency with a handful of other local professional guides (Véronique, Chiara, Gioia, Marta...) and I started elaborating tours based on the local’s life spirit rather than tourist visits. Passionate about art, I am also a musician, photographer and painter who really trust his senses in order to create originals guided tours which deeps visitors in the real Venice, off the beaten tracks, for a more sustainable way to discover the city and its secrets. To me, Venice is much more than the Piazza San Marco, the Doge's Palace or the Rialto Bridge; it is the narrow streets, the people, the old cafes, the bacari, the local gastronomy, the spritz, the ciccheti, the canals, and all the stories and traditions who make the city so lively. Visit the fresh markets and learn about the Venetian gastronomy, discover Venice little paths, or enjoy a photography experience in the fishing areas and the lagoon around the city. PS : my tours could also be guided by Véronique, Chiara, Gioia or Marta. We can guide in German, Russian, Italian, English and French. ...read more

LANGUAGES :

Born and raised in the Veneto region, I always loved foreign languages since my youngest age. So I started to study Japanese, literature and culture and in the meantime I was developing my knowledge and passion for Italian arts and architecture. Few years after, working as a Japanese interpreter, I saw a contest for a Japanese speaking guide job and I decided to participate to end up being selected and it changed my life. I decided to create my own agency, in order to design my own visits, focused on the inside stories of Venice churches and museums. I have a true passion for my city and my region, and I love to show it to the visitors from all around the world, bringing them to hidden places and telling them secret anecdotes about Venice and the Veneto. My tours show the real Venice, far from the touristic paths and closer from the people who make the city existing since centuries. I am also proud to say I am the most licensed guide in the Veneto area in five different places, entitling me to guide also in Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Treviso and Rovigo. Today, I can guide in Italian, in English, and Japanese in unique places such as Murano glass factories, Burano lace workshops, wineries, churches and other authentic Venetian places. ...read more
