Laurent | about the guide

We recommend to start at 10am.

The south of France is famous for its cooking, sunny climate and typical products. With your expert guide, plunge into a world of culinary craftsmanship as you meet some of the local producers who’ve set up shops in beautiful, historic city of Aix-en-Provence. During this journey back in time, you will wander through the narrow streets, past the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, the museum Musée du Vieux Marseille, the Palais de Justice and the Fontaine de la Rotonde, and chat to the local artisans that bring the city to life. They will explain the secrets behind their products and, at each location, you’ll have the opportunity to sample unique flavors from southern France. As you pass fountains and churches, you’ll meet macaroon makers, atypical bakers, local goats cheese producers, olive oil specialists, wine producers and many more culinary delights. As you sample the local specialties, you’ll also discover some of the city’s most symbolic areas including the Mazarin district, Cours Mirabeau and Quartier des marchands in the old center. In this poetic and historical labyrinth, your guide will tell you more about the people who have had an important impact on the city from Mirabeau to artists like Cézanne and Renoir.

Marseille

languages :
Anglais/English, Français/French

A native of Lille, I spent over 20 years in Paris before deciding to settle in Marseille, attracted by the climate and the charm of the Mediterranean. During my years in the capital, I was an actor but also an oenologist and restaurant owner, developing my passion and my skills in several renowned institutions. Since my arrival on the French Riviera, I specialized in tourism by offering tours combining wine, gastronomy and history, especially from Marseille, Aix en Provence and Cassis. I love to share my knowledge with people, being outside and exploring sites full of culture and history. I also sometimes offer mini wine courses and cooking courses in order to teach curious visitors how to combine wine and food. During my private tours, discover the culinary delights of the South of France between tapas, pastries and olive oil, as well as the most scenic places from Cassis to Arles via Les Baux de Provence.
